Acupressure
Acupressure is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years in Asia. Based on the same theories as those used for acupuncture, acupressure involves placing pressure on acupressure points on the body. Stimulation of these points of the meridian system brings about relief by rebalancing yin, yang and qi.
While the martial arts tend to use acupressure extensively, recent research has found acupressure to be effective for relieving lower back pain, one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints. It can also provide relief from other forms of muscle and joint pain, fibromyalgia and arthritis.
